Motivation At Work

As discussed in class, motivation plays a big role in any work setting. From working in the kitchen with previous jobs, as well as externship, I have worked with people who have very little motivation, and people who come into work motivated everyday. It's evident that the people who show little to no motivation at work don't care about their job. The food industry is all about serving people and making them happy from the product that you produce. I also believe that having a passion for working in a kitchen or bakeshop is something that people either have, or they don't. It may sound like a plain "black and white" approach, but one's motivation and drive definitely show through their actions. There will always be co-workers at any job who don't handle constructive criticism or structure as well as others. Unfortunately, a negative attitude will not get them very far in terms of their relationships and careers. People that have motivation have the ability to surpass the basic duties of their job, build good relationships with others and tend to meet their career goals easily.
